A goodlink is from a site that is relevant to your site, if it has a high pr ranking then all the better. Go for relevant links, dont go for those $2 for 10k backlink packages.

You could use tools.dynamicdrive.com/imageoptimizer/ or load up photoshop or Fireworks and optimise them that way. If you decide to do more, combine your css files into one and then optimise that and...

Dont forget it has to be unique and quality, otherwise there is no point in the content.
