Need helpful advice from IT pros out there

Hello everyone out there in the IT world. I have a question for you. I own a remodeling business, I have a website, I get my leads through referals, repeat customers, lead services and a few directly through my website. I know I need to my online presence stronger and that is the future, problem is I can build a website (www(dot)ronecholsremodeling(dot)com), but I don't have a lot of knowledge or experience in promoteing it. Today I get a phone call from a company claiming they are google specialist and that for $99 set up fee and $99 a month they will build me a marketing website, get me an additional domain and gaurantee me that within 30 days I will be PR1 on Google, yahoo, bing, etc... for the most searched keyword pertaining to my website and line of work. Is this possible? Is this a good deal? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks,Ron

within 30 days PR1 can't be guaranteed as Google updates PR on his own will

But yes He can get you on top of search engine for some of the keywords in 30 days, rather it can be done in a week , It all depends on competition for keyword you targeting for

It does, and it also depends on how they do it, and if they use software. You need to make sure they don't violate any guidelines and that the work they do is in your and your businesses best interests. If your keywords are competitive, then it could seriously take longer than a month. Is there a way you can see any prior work they have done? That would be the safest bet I think. Too many people nowdays play in areas that Google is not fond of, and with the big G targeting things as much as they are recently, you need to make sure that the work that's done on your site is done the right way, especially if its a new one.

    Ron,

You do need help or to do some work on your site. I did searches for remodeling, home improvement, garages, and wooden decks in Raleigh, NC and did not see your site in the first 100 search results for any of these terms. For the term 'remodeling' this borders on amazing as it is in your domain name and page title. All of the pages are indexed by Google, so the problem is not just that the site is unknown. In fact the home page shows a PR0, which is a step above n/a.

The site looks nice, but looking at the code provides some hints as to reasons that the pages do not rank well. I have never seen a better example of keyword stuffing in the meta keyword tag. This is a text book example of why Google and most major search engines stopped using the meta keywords, but in this case they could be downgrading the site based on that tag. The meta description is too short and does not contain your localization information. There is no semantic markup in the text of the site at all. There is no h1 tag and all text is body text giving no hints to the search engines as to what may be important on the page. The site is also a table based layout. Most modern sites use a css based layout.

Your course of action depends on you. You could put up a WordPress site and almost certainly do better than the current VistaPrint site (do you own your domain name or does VistaPrint own it?). If you have a few hours a week to put into a site you can probably do most of this yourself or outsource some parts for less than the $99/month. Figure about $4/month for hosting and $10/year for the domain name. If you just want it done and not to worry about it yourself the quoted prices are probably competitive if the company can deliver, although you may receive some better offers from some forum members.

Just as a total aside, the call wasn't from our old friend Ben Hames, was it??

According to the contact page for SEO Global Solutions they are located in the Philippines. There appears to be a company called Arrowhead Global Solutions in Raleigh that does SEO.
