Are You Ready to Remove 'Link Building' From Your Vocabulary?

There is an interesting post on the MozBlog (formerly SEOMoz) on the goals of 'link building' along with some suggestions on how to do things better: 7 Reasons to Remove "Link Building" from Our Vocabulary - Moz

"Link building" is a phrase used by most industry experts, many of whom I respect deeply. Unfortunately, their use of such terms grants a sort of license, shelter, and reassurance to people doing a very different kind of link building. The ambiguity can take new marketers some time to figure out, and our industry and personal reputations suffer at the hands of ineffective marketing.
Your real goal is qualified quality traffic to your site. Links should be more of a metric than a means to that end.

Hmm interesting article. But I don't think Link-building will be gone not for a long time. Not unless Google start ignoring all backlinks and just focus on content. I tired to stick with content and Social media but result was so not good.

interesting topic guys, in the end common sense prevails.. a good website with good content or something that is a buzz in the news will naturally get links too it, shares, bookmarks etc.. no one can stop this and all if it has been blow out of proportion, I love when google says or does something like this and everyone panics... no more seo, no more link building, but in the end my website have performed better than ever, did I stop link building, NO, did I change anything NO....

to conclude, I agree with the topic and the discussion, but link building is here to say, we just can spam and do the junk that filled up the internet anymore...
