Thread: Need info on Local Seo or Local Seo strategy ?

in the Internet Marketing world we got a lot of info and good ressource tks to this forum as well who offer a lot of good info and support by all member thanks in advance .
I m doing Seo in house for my business no automation software all manual no outsourcing
Most of the info are about general Seo i like to know if i can get some more info strategy here is my problem i was able to rank 1 page my site on some medium competition keywords and second & third page for more high competition
But Here is my problem my service area have many city so can i reproduce what i did to rank some of my keyword which was directory submission citations and some articles and video .
Any suggestion or advice to rank site in local area with 20-30 cities ?


I m now trying to implement new technique for backlink like social ,blog/forum and profile like squidoo and hubpages to get better ranking .

I use Keyword Country to find geographically active keywords and social media sites. I am all for it!

The best way is to check how many competitors you have in your local area. Analyze there website and see if they are competiting for the same keywords and whether they have the same keyword in there meta tag, URL ,anchor.
Then go to backlinkwatchdotcom and check number of backlinks to there wesbite. U will get an idea how many links they have.
Go to Google places and list your company there as well as in Google maps.
Use Facebook and other social media sites. Get an application designed like fortune cookie or thought of the day which soread virally. U can add ur link there on the top and bottom with anchor text.
Get a nice fan page designed, give customers some freebies/something valuable.
As far as seo is concerned, keep adding new content to ur website, use wordpress and a few important seo plugins. Keep adding new content to ur blog!!

This is true, and you can also try to build links that related to your local.

You should do mostly local business listing, review submission and classified submission. I am sure that it would be very useful to you.

One thing you could do is try targeting the metropolitan area on your homepage, then build out other pages to target the top few towns in the area you want to target. I have one client in a similar situation. They have 6 locations in the same county, but want to target each town so they built out a page for each town and do link building that targets each town. You could also sign up for yelp and pay for a sponsored listing directly in the center of the area you want to target so your business comes up at the top for all the surrounding towns. Make sure you also get a google, yahoo and bing local listing as well as putting your physical address on the site.

I was just reading last night (ref: Duplicate Content in a Post-Panda World | SEOmoz) that care must be taken when doing this that the pages are substantially unique, not just the city names swapped out on the various pages.
