Thread: Review my drug and addiction website

Different type of niche one I am very passionate about. Created this in May 2011 as a volunteer substance misuse worker, thought it would be a good idea to help more than just the people I see as a volunteer so I created 'myroutetohelp' Google that and you will find it


Its growing now, hopefully by posting on this forum I can learn more about SEO & how to backlink properly so hopefully it will rise up the Google Ranks therefore helping more people.

This website also allows people to submit posts which is pretty new but is a popular thing for people to openly share their experiences through drug addiction and helping others in the process.

Nice job! The site looks good and should be very personally rewarding. It is showing a PR1 with over 1000 indexed pages.

The shortened links in the box at the upper right do bother me a bit. I seldom follow shortened links, but those should really be clickable anchor text links anyway.

I think that your Adsense blocks would produce more if you reversed the position, but aesthetics may be more important than income in this case. Your best course for monetization for the site would probably be to partner with some treatment centers (affiliate programs).

The one thing that you should consider is to buy the .com and point it to your site as well.

Thanks for the feedback, however what do you mean by the Anchor Text Links?

I was thinking about looking for some treatment centers as affiliates as it could be a good income

Looking again I see that the box shows tweets, so you don't really have control over that.

Anchor text links are like all the links further down the page, ie: categories etc.

I think it looks very nice, blue color suit it very good, also like the idea that people can share their stories.

nice and simple design.. your alexa rank at the moment is 376 000 ++ something,which is really good i think, if you work hard a little bit on link building campaign i think you can get more and more visitor as well reduced alexa rank and your domain name really give 'appealing effetc' for people to read more, keep it up!

Thanks, I got a link campaign going now for the main website link and description then ill do the same for some posts, some of them I have just redone; the likes of heroin and steroids which I aim to try and get into the top 100 rank on Google then build on from that!
