Thread: looking to get a site review, and members to join as well

Hi, and thanks to imtalk.org for giving me the opportunity to get my site reviewed through you guys.

the site is a marketplace and online auction site, we are in the beta stage so mot much going on.

i have set a marketing strategy, and going after getting the forum and blog active, then eventually members will start buy and sell on my site.

also note, that i am offering a 100$ Forum contest, for members who join and make posts. ( what do you guys think of that).

Well first thing first, (do not get offended) but the design is really bad, it felt like a site that really didnt take much effort. The forum was also not so well built, try using well known forum software like vbulletin or phpbb, both are fine. Then try to get a better design hire a web design company to build you a better site, prices could range from $500 and up, but if you are serious about the site and willing to put the work in then the design is well worth it.

Now same thing goes for the blog, the design, but you have some great articles which is great. Keep writing buzz content to get you some visitors, also try to guest post on other blogs.

But you have a really great domain, and you should keep at it because that domain name is really brand-able.

Thanks alot for your review, the idea behind the current style is web 2.0. developers are still doing work. design is not finished yet. and i wish it is only 500$, i spent will over that so far. the site is feature rich. i am trying to get the forum populated for now, until site is up and ready.

i am thinking of getting some contest running, promoting the forum and getting it ready for grand opening of the site.

what ways do you suggest, for getting some quality posts and members on forum.

I am not too good with forum start-ups, but some friends that built forums they networked and got people to join their forum one by one until he got a good following of people that posted. With the quality post I think you should offer guest blog posting or hire writers, if you could write the articles your self then by all means you should do that.
