if you are looking for a free tool.. Google keyword tool is indeed the best.. But if you are really into IM, Market Samurai is a must have... That is what i think...

Along with using Google keyword tool, You should try other tolls as well and see what common keywords are being suggested by all the keyword suggestion tools. You can try some popular websites as well like eBay and nextag to see which keywords are more popular for kind of products you have.

I use Market Samurai (painfully slow but gives great results), the free Google Adwords Keyword Tool, the free version of Traffic Travis (to give me hints in terms of whether a keyword(s) is/are easy or not to dominate. If you have money or are making loads of money, the best tool is SEO Cockpit (there's a monthly fee to use this tool). It is extremely fast.

If you wish to win SEO competition at google search, the realistic tool for its is tool from Google too.. You can combine between adwords, insight and google trends..

Usually i use Google Ad-sense, but word-tracker is also a good keyword tool.

I really like LongTailPro from Spencer at nichepursuits.com I've found tons of great keywords relatively quickly using that tool. It pulls results from Google's Keyword Tool and then allows you to filter them in various ways. It's much simpler and more focused than Market Samurai and works better as well.

I use Market Samurai and Micro Niche Finder.
MNF gives me fast good low competion keywords.
MS has also now a very nice "spying" function for your competitors and a good ranking tool where you can see the developement of the ranking in Google, Yahoo and Bing.

I think google adwords keytool is the best because you work on SEO means you depend on Google. So what will you choose?

I use google keyword tool to get search volume, and use majesticseo and market samurai to analyze competition.

Yes Google ad word key word tools is better it gives you accurate results so in my opinion it is more useful i have use several time and my experience is that no one like that

I use Google for it, simple to use and you get the results for free.

Google has pretty good free tool set. I use those and sometime Micro niche finder.

besides, many keyword tools itself get data directly from google, the different between them is only how they optimize each data they collect and interpret the data for user so as to make sure they get the best optimize keyword, and also some added features

Voila !

Google tools don't give accurate numbers concerning competition, unless you want to use Adwords.
MNF saves you a lot....A LOT of time and gives all the info in one overview for all keywords.

Indeed, Market Samurai has improved a lot and shows some data about other SE's.

I also think that Google Ad-words is by far the best out there for a webmaster that just wants to get the basics done.. If you want to get deeper in depth I would buy a program/software that would better fit your needs.. But most people can get buy with Ad-words..

I would suggest using google adword keyword tool. Just type keyword tool in google and it should appear as the first link as it belongs to google. Its free and easy to use, its also very accurate, if not the most.

I use Market Samurai for some research - bought the package at launch; however, the package has had a rough time in the last few months. My main bug-bear is the time needed to do a complete a research and analysis on a keyword project - it is quite slow in the gathering the information. Results are good if you have the time!
