Thread: Difference between dofollow and nofollow

I still see a lot people who say that nofollow links are worthless. But that is so not true.

The nofollow attribute was developed in 2005 by Google to help combat link spam in the comment section of blogs. It was designed so that webmasters could attach it to all unwanted links that are unrelated to their site, so that Google could improve the quality of their search engine results.

However, there are some proof that nofollow links are not completely worthless. It seems like they do pass a very small amount of link juice.

Of course dofollow links are better, but nofollow are not worthless!

you can get a direct back link through do follow site & about no follow site it increase only traffic on our site not back link.

No follow links make your links look more natural to Google. That's a very important key to the new Google changes in my opinion.

Yws I agree with you. Actually there are so many distance about dofollow and no follow site. google counts do follow links for rank your keyword. But it is most important some no follow links for natural view. Also you must receive some decent amount of visitors from no follow site.
After all it is not bad to get some no follow links.

i totally agreed.. combination of both dofollow and nofollow will show great mechanism of natural linking

Do follow - Google easily consider such types links. we can get high quality back links.

No follow - Google can't consider such types links.

I vote for this...Yes it is. As per my knowledge i know that no follow links are must to give a natural link building practice in blog/website. No follow links are very useful while inter linking the site/blog.

Do Follow - Follows the back links of the site where the link is from to calculate the quality and its link juice

No Follow - Considered as backlink but don't follow back links of the site and don;t give the link juice.

Well I must say here that Nofollow are for not crawling a link by search engine. Dofollow allow search engine to crawl links. Both are good for human traffic.

That's the exact approach a link builder should have. No doubt that dofollow links are better but nofollow backlinks also adds to the natural looking backlink profile.

I disagree that nofollow links doesn't improve SERP ranking... A friend of mine tested this by getting only nofollow backlinks and he got improvement in SERP's

So, I'd say that nofollow links too improve SERP positions but not as much as dofollow.

dofollow transfer his pagerank
nofollow don't transfer his pagerank.
thas only for the pr on the page where you have the backlink.
