I mix always dofollow and nofollow... When you only link dofollow google will give you a penalty I think.

do follow transfer pr to your websites and can be considered of greater value in terms of seo but don't forget to get some no-follow backlinks as well else google might instead hurt your site's improvements in the serps because it could be considered unnatural link building. also use some anchor texts such as "next", "go", "site" as well

Google and other search engines are very clear on nofollow tag. They do not help in ranking or page rank.

But yes they can bring you visits.

Currently do and no follow are important factors of SEO. Don't concentrate on dofollow links, if your links are 100% dofollow this will be consider as SPAM by google. So the ratio will be 30-70% (No-Do) or may be 50-50%.

install nodofollow firefox addon to check the attribute to links. you should make both links but dofollow links helps to rank high in search engines

Nofollow are not worthless but no value for seo as they do not pass any link juice to the linking site.

both have value, and have tested well, it looks a lot more natural to have a mix of both!

Dofollow link says google crawler, "Start following me" and google leaves your blog/website and start following that link.
on the other hand nofollow link stops google crawler and they treated that link as simple text.

So many nonsense posts here that I really can't believe it.
