Hi, has anyone tried to fuse a flash design into a website with SEO? Did it affect the rankings? Please share your thoughts. Thank you.

Firstly, spiders (or bots) may be advancing in leaps and bounds, but generally still cannot really read a flash object. Even now, new IM's are still being taught to use HTML, CSS (output if you use PHP etc.) and Jquery to build sites. Flash, Javascript etc. is hard for a bot to read and it will generally only focus on the HTML on the site.

I think flash can be a great asset to certain websites and it is best to consider it a part of a great site. Remember the saying "the customer is always right", if they want a flash heavy site then fine, find a way around the problem and push the boundaries a bit. Has anyone ever claimed to have brilliantly optimised a flash heavy website? Probably not, so become the first!

As far as now, there is no flash sites in the 1 place on google with a competitive keyword. Spiders and bots can not "see" and understand flash sites. But who knows?, maybe in the near future google pay more attention to this.
