Thread: how to remove index.html from the url

I created a website and put the index.html folder in public_html directory the site is redirecting the url ending with index.html, how can I remove it?

Did you perhaps write the index page in html, only to create a site in php? I recently created a wordpress site and faced the same problem. Instead of the page pointing to wordpress, it pointed to the index page. You can code a redirect into the html page to direct it tot he page you want to use as the home page, then you wouldn't need to delete it. If that is the case.

put the index.html folder in public_html directory

Normally you would put the index.html page into the public_html directory. Are you seeing a parking page instead of your site home page?
