Thread: Free Images

Hi any recommendations on royalty free images and graphic websites? Most of the free ones require either an acknowledgement or payment for the larger images.

I have ussed istockphoto, they give you some free credits when you join.

I have used this site findicons.com for their freeware images and added to my blog. You may need to increase the image size in Photoshop but for small images this is ideal.

so you can use these Fotos! For free! Also for commercial use! But be sure that the pictures are link to the original.

you can try morguefile.com. I love this site as everything is royaly free and you dont even have to register to get the high quality stock images

Fair photos, no need to link back, but if it's for commercial use you do need to let the creator know that you used the photo and where.

Try GettyImages. They have a mega collection of stock images. Both rights managed and royalty free.

if you can pay a little, you can buy images from fotolia for a very cheap price.

one important question to ask, do we need to link back to original distributor even though it is royalty free? till now i just use the image at my blog and don't even linking back to them (photo provider), because i think, i'm not selling the image or for commercial purposes, just put into blogpost so as to make readers imagine what they read

ok, dude, I didn't know about these. Thats why I suggested him to buy pics from fotolia for a cheap price.

Check the terms of service on the site for an answer to that question.

For Royalty free images you don't need to do anything. These can be used for commercial or personal use and you can edit those or do anything. It's more or less public domain.

go to some free sharing sites, they allow the use of their images.
