    How to make a PHP page?

    I put in a PHP code in notebook and saved it as lesson1.php but when I used FTP to upload it to my server it said lesson1.php.txt how do I make just a PHP page?

    Does the file have the same name when you look at it in your computer? Sometimes when you use notepad, and you save a file as .php, you need to remember that beneath this, there is a drop down box that says .txt and a host of other options. You need to set the .txt to all files and then save the file again as .php.

    On the server you also have the option to rename the file, so you could just rename the file on the server this time. Phoenyx gave the real answer to the problem.

    PHP performance tips are:
    Upgrade your version of PHP
    Use caching
    Use output buffering
    Avoid writing naive setters and getters

    With all due respect, The OP was asking about creating a page, because he had run into a small problem when saving the file. How would any of these help him when all he had to do was either rename or resave the doument?
