Thread: Alternating ways of monetizing a feed

To all the IMTer's here ....

Can you please suggest alternative ways of monetizing a feed as I heard that Google Adsense for Feedburner is shutting down.

I know Google Adsense for FeedBurner is shutting down it should be down already if not by early December. I can't help you with alternative ways to monetize you feed but you better watch FeedBurner itself. Google hasn't done much with FeedBurner since they bought except let it go downhill and they recently took down the FeedBurner API which to me makes it look like they are going to kill of FeedBurner completely.

Which brings the next question other than self maintaining the feeds what are the alternatives to FeedBurner?

Amount of visitors via feeds and emails are going down all the time. I'd rather look forward, than looking back. Having ads on feeds is a big no-no to most of the people anyway.

Another major hit against feeds comes next year, when the iGoogle service goes down.

Try something like android/ios app using feed with mobile based ads inside it!

I had never had good success with feeds and monetizing. I guess there are better things to monetize.

Agree with you .... But monetizing a feed properly can add a couple of bucks extra to our pockets!
