    Lightbulb Marketing

I would like to share an Idea I learned in a marketing class I took. I think we all agree IMTalk has benefited all of us in one way or another. Some more than others but as for me I love getting on here! One marketing trick I learned was to print out business cards with your IMTalk referrer link on it. On mine I say:
Learn about SEO, Learn how to manage your website,
Communicate with top minds in the industry FREE
    then my referrer link,
I drop cards at best buy, walmart, also when I send a bill payment off I enclose several cards in the envelope. On each card is a hand written message that simply says When you have a break, see what we are about. People helping people.
Im curious to see how it plays out. I may end up with a ton of referrals or none but either way, I had fun doing it and exercised my mind to think outside of the box!

    Joe

I think thats a great Idea! I know when my wife worked at the tax office during break they would check their facebook and do whatever so I could see that getting some buzz going around the office. Leaving a stack of cards at the doctors office, dentist office would probably work too. People have the smart phone sitting there and they can look it up.
That is actually a great Idea!

These days you should get a QR code and have it printed on the card. With the QR code most smart phone users don't even have to type in the domain name.

    Question Re: Marketing for IMTalk

Can someone direct in the right direction for creating a QR code? I have never done that before so any advice would be appreciated. I am going to print the cards myself. Does anyone for see a problem that might occur with me doing that? In other words, would it effect the quality of the QR when people scan it? I was going to use picture quality settings.
I am sending Namanja a PM to get an okay on doing this. I don't see a problem as long as I use some common sense in dispersing the cards.

    Namanja said okay!

Alright I sent Namanja a private message and received the okay for the qr code on the business cards. so its a go ahead and I am going to give it a blood test to see how this works out. My hopes is that it will bring in not only quality and fresh content for the forum but also a customer base for some of the signature links we have and A customer base for the IMT supercharge Bookmarks and such. In short I think it's going to potentially trickle to all of us that participate in the Forum.
