Thread: Notification Emails

I'm not getting email notification for new PM or posts on thread.

I have:
Double checked my email address
changed option to: Receive Email Notification of new Private Messages and have selected to receive emails when couple threads have been replied to.

Am I missing anything else?

Are you using ISP email or Web Mail (like gmail or hotmail)? Maybe you need to whitelist imtalk.org. I don't see anything wrong with your set-up. I use one of my site email addresses along with Thunderbird to grab them from the server and have no problem with notification emails.

I'm using my home, local internet email for this. I will change it to another and see what happens.

This is a test. If your notifications are working to the alternate email address your ISP was probably filtering them.

Wink is right, some mail servers or server in general can do this and your email won't get trough. The solution will be to change it to something that will work 110% like gmail or yahoo, etc...

N, if it works on other vBulletin forums out should work here too out would that depend?

I will keep watching though and change to gmail account of still not working.

It doesn't have anything to do with vBulletin, it is all about if this (imtalk.org) server is white listed in your email service provider server.

But in your case, when I think about it, it must been working for you before(at first), because otherwise you wouldn't be able to conform your email and therefore you still wouldn't be a member.

I get notification emails for any thread in which I comment without needing to turn on notifications. As I understand it the option is there in case you want to follow replies on a thread to which you have not posted a reply.

In my settings page, I set Default Thread Subscription Mode: Through my control panel only. You can change this from post to post.
