I am not into editing but as far as I've seen my colleagues working on tools, Photoshop is their ultimate tool to impress clients and also come up with some crazy looking pictures to upload on Facebook and get likes and shares.

Adobe Lightroom is probably the any professional photographers choice. None can match it's features which let you manipulate Raw files. Only problem is as any other Adobe software it's quite expensive.

Those offers are internationally valid or just country specific ? Only students benefit from those. Rest either buy the software or use a torrent site.

I think Photoshop is the best software for photo editing. You can also use cs3,4,5 or current update version of cs6.

The latest Photoshop version is Photoshop CC. I think CS series is done. I hate to see one software dominating the market.

Sometimes it's better to go with freeware as Photoshop is hard on an older PC

Photoshop is the best software for photo editing. After photoshop, you can also use gimp and inkscape.

Although I have not looked at it personally I have recently seen some very nice posters that were produced in Picasa, Google's image editor. It is freeware and now has some integration with Google+ (tagging and sharing). The posters show layering and filtering similar to what can be done in PhotoShop.

Is Picasa as dificult as Photoshop? I have checked Picasa in Google and found a Picasa 3.9 download on Filehippo so is it safe to download Picasa 3.9 from filehippo.

My attention was called to Picasa when it was mentioned as the tool used to produce the posters that I mentioned. Since Picasa was developed with general users in mind it is likely to be a bit more friendly than PhotoShop, a software developed primarily for professional users.

The FileHippo download should be safe but I think you can also download it directly from Google/Picasa.

I use Photoshop but it was a bigh learning curve and took a lot of comittment to get to the level I am at now... Thanks to a lots of youtube tutorials. Gimp is good and easier to use Plus Free. Learn about layers that is key.
