Is adding a forum to your website a security threat to your web site

I added a forum to my web site a short time ago, and am having hacking problems, not with that site , but another in the same account hosted by IX Webhosting. Could the forum be a problem, I wonder.

I'd be interested to hear what anyone might think.

I have already checked my MAC and changed the passwords to my account over and over again. The hacking continues with bad iframes being added to the home page.

Ask your hosting company to do a malware scan on your web space.

    hi,
you need to have a talk with your hosting company, the server where your website is hosted might be under attack by hackers.

ask them to check the firewalls and also do a malware scan in the server or the web space where your website is hosted.

you should also check your scripts properly if there are any back-doors open due to which your website is getting hacked.

if you want you can contact me via PM with the details, i will try to check if i can find any problem in your website scripts.

    kindest,

    Hi,

Most hacks like that penetrates through some vulnerability on your scripts. Most web hosting company will usually send you a warning that your site has been hacked and will give the urls or specific file that was hacked.

They will also disable the specific site so that it not affect the other sites on your server. So the best way to contact here first is your host and hopefully you have a good host that will help you on that.
