Is there any Wordpress plugin to start a small forum in a blog?

Hello Everyone,

I run a reputable blog and I think if I start forum section in my blog then it will increase participation of members. I am already using Wordpress in my blog so prefer something that can be easily integrated with Wordpress.

Is there any Wordpress plugin that can start a small forum in my blog? If forum is not possible then a small question answer section would also do the needful so tell me if you know about any such plugin.

I don't have a name for the plugin but I know that there is one available. A plugin search at wordpress.org will find the options for you. You may need a separate install for the forum, but WordPress is perfectly happy in a sub-directory.

I searched on Wordpress and I found bbpress but there were some negative reviews about this plugin so I wanted to know whether is it safe to install or I should install it in a separate directory first. Please tell.

I think it will be a good idea to first test bbpress on one of my less important blog for few days and then if I can get the assured that the plugin is 100% safe for my site then I will install it in my main money earning site.
