Hey mate the content seems to be good(if its unique), but I suppose you need a goof theme.

Obviously early days with your blog but it is promising in its offer and I like the colour scheme.
I do not like the background - it is far to strong IMO and seems to distract from the content.

I agree with you, the background is too money oriented. Just plain color would be great for me.
The contents is great and has simple and nice looking anyway.
