I know my url but what is anchor?

The anchor (text) would be the keyword or keyword phrase for which you want the page on your site to rank. If you build several links to a page you might use different anchor text with alternate keywords on some of the links.

The html would be something like:

<a href="http://www.mydomain.com/">I am a Newbie!</a>

Where 'I am a Newbie!' would be the anchor text and your url would be the mydomain part. With that code the 'I am a Newbie!' would normally display in underlined blue text unless the website reset the defaults for link display.
