0.98 Cent .me domain names at Namecheap

You don't need any promo code or anything. Just goto namecheap site and get it from there. I think you can get upto 10 domain per account. These domains might not great for your money sites like .com but can be handy for affiliate promotions and when you use paid traffic.

If you are talking about end-user value yes. SEO-wise it should same as any other TLD. Even Google said gTLDs like .me / .tv are equal to .com and the rest.

But I still prefer .com because I believe a lot of people have an instinct to press ctrl + enter after typing the address and that automatically connects to .com

Well yes for long term sites you might not need these but those who test paid traffic sources would like this kind of deals. They can do split tests using these domains and they forget about those doesn't work for them. Also most of those who use Paid traffic do short term promotions which last only months sometimes. Very useful in cases like that.

Yes bluearrow for long term sites I think it would not be very useful to go for other endings. After all .com rules and when you think about any site, .com at the end automatically comes to mind.
