Thread: Is this possible?

Hi,

I'm planning to launch a new website and I want to make country specific versions of it in the future.

I want them to be available like this:

mysite.com/en/ (for English speakers)
mysite.com/ru/ (for Russian speakers)
mysite.com/fr/ (for French speakers)

and so on....

My question is, is it possible to use different servers for these versions? For example, I'd like to rent a server in Russia for the mysite.com/ru
but I want the mysite.com/fr/ to be served from a server in France.

I think you would have to buy the country specific TDL extensions ie: mysite.ru, mysite.fr. I don't think the DNS system would read beyond the TDL, though it might be possible with a content distribution network. I do know that some sites are served from different servers depending on geo-location.

Yeah, that's what I'd like to avoid, because some of the domains are taken.

You cannot host same domain into different servers because there will be different nameservers, which needs to be updated for pointed in the servers. So you can have different nameservers for same domain. In any one server you can have different language folders for different peoples.
