I have been getting a lot of blog comments with facebook, bing and google urls????

    Hi all,

The last couple of days 1 of my new wordpress blogs have been hit by comments and the urls are mostly facebook but some are google and bing.

Is this someone using scrapebox or something else but not putting in there own URL as I cant see facebook or google needing to gain backlinks using software and the comments are spun???

Or am I missing the point as this seems odd??

I am not bothered by this activity infact at least I know that the site is being found somewhere....

I have noticed several of the google.com variety but I pay little attention to comments that do not make it past Akismet. I have wondered if it was someone doing some testing to identify AA blogs, or at least blogs with a loose comment policy. If the comments get posted they may then add the blog URL to a for sale list.

Ok I get where you are coming from oh well as I said I am not bothered more curious as to why. Do you rate Akismet as a good way of filtering out the bad comments? I use disqus on my other blogs

May be your site being listed on some other site submission websites where most of the bloggers are searching to make comments for link building. Let me know is it those comments are with links?

Hi Sherly that is the strange thing the comments haven't got links in them the only url is for google, facebook or bing???

I think wink0r is right it is someone testing a list for auto approve blogs before they get sold in which case I might do something about it...

Occasionally, but rarely, a comment that I would allow is flagged as spam and sometimes spam comments do not get flagged, but it is a big help in comment management. If there are too many comments to check I delete the comments from the spam folder without any worries that I am deleting something good.
