Websites change on a daily basis. It could be that your links were taken down and others put in its place. There could literally be many other reasons as well, but that one seems to happen the most.

Webmasters delete them, Google wobbles and deletes them, Yahoo site explorer doesn't always work properly. One thing's for sure, don't stop backlinking
