getting links in to your site is only half the battle
what if that link placed links to major dodgy sites that google frown upon or have banned
do you really want them to link to you also ?

what about that guy who just bought a link on your site
great you got paid !
good on ya !
but at what expense !
what if that site is penalised or links to something illegal or otherwise
wow your helping promote it !!
googles gonna get you for that

Thank you for this. I will bookmark this. I find it terribly important to make sure our company site is linked to "good neighborhoods", if I can call them that. It's really important for me to make sure that anyone that links back to us, is a quality company that is not on google's hitlist. I mean if you think about it, its not just about the bad link pointing back at you, its about your company reputation that can be seriously damaged if your company is linked to a site that has either been banned, or punished in any way for any kind of bad conduct. It's a case of guilty by association I think, because if people see that your company is linked to a bad one, they believe that your company can be capable of doing the same thing, and it is something I will prevent with every resource I have at my disposal

this also checks the links on each site thats linked to you so it goes that one step further
