Does pinging site build links?

Hello Everyone,

After publishing every post on my blog, I ping it in pingomatic but what does pinging do. Does pinging build any links to my site? Please suggest. Knowing the real process behind pinging will boost my confidence.

no it just make the serp to know that your site is live is just another way of indexing your link

SERP means search engines but which ones. Does it inform just Google only or other major search engines also?

I would suggest that you visit the pingomatic site to find the current list. As I recall that is pingomatic.com, but if that is not the correct address Google knows where they are located.

agree with jack, it just make Google know there is a new update on your site. if you really need your update indexed as fast as possible by google, you can do this.
