    Google dance or penalty?

I have 1 month old niche site, I did decent backlinking everyday and I managed to crawl from 3rd page to 1st page of google. Then suddenly I disappeared from SERPS with my MAIN keywords (position 732), other keywords stayed the same or got even better. However, I have been gone from serps for a week now. I have continued backlinking and I have added more unique content to my site, but nothing has changed. Is this somekind of penalty or google dance? How should I recover from that?

    Thanks.

It seems to me that you have build too many backlinks with the same anchor, you used your main keyword for the anchor, right?
    If so... this is penalty.

If you focused on your main keywords when you did your backlinking, and not so much on the others, then I think it could be a penalty, because all your other keywords are doing ok, or better. Have you had a look at the content on your site? If I may ask, how much backlinking did you do a day? and did this effect your standings on any other search engines? I know Google is the no 1 search engine, but if your rankings on other search engines hasn't dropped as badly, then its not too bad, and it gives you time to work on your site. If you have been building more than 200 a day, you need to slow down and take a break.

You should speak to Idrees, Anup and Seobunny and Nemanja. They should be able to give you some solid advice on how to turn it all around and get you headed back to your previous position.

I think what Mankiboy experienced is NORMAL. New sites often get 'felt up' for various keywords for about 30 days and rank well, then down the ranks it goes if the niche is truly competitive.

If the niche is not-so-competitive - and you got some decent on-page keyword variants working for you - the site may just continue to do reasonably well.

Sites under 1 year simply need time to gain authority and trust. It may happen at the 6-9-12 month mark and suddenly Goog will open up a mess of keywords beyond just Exact match phrases.

Just keep refining, adding content, building links steadily in the meantime. Until a site is AT LEAST 1 YEAR OLD - you really don't know what it's capable of doing. Time is your single biggest ally. While waiting for a site to age - start a new one in another or similar niche...

It is only the Google dance and nothing else. If you got penalize so your all keyword should have down.

For more information, I would say that I made 20-25 backlinks per day and the niche is not very competitive. It also makes me worried that, the site is not dancing around, it's rather stays decently in the last page (732).

I forgot to mention that, I was completely de-indexed form google some days before I went gone from google SERPS.

Hmm, entirely de-indexed? Did you get any messages at your webmaster tool inbox? 20 - 25 a day is cool, it should not have caused this problem. The only other thing I can think of is that it could be the site itself, or the site content, or even the links the site is pointing to. People chop and change sites a lot, and what could be a great site today, could be in the Google bad books the next. Macgizmoguy has a point, and your niche isn't terribly competitive either, but to be de-indexed.... If you use Google webmaster tools, have a look where all your links are going to, coming from etc. Maybe create some fresh content etc. and keep building backlinks.

I'm not entirely sure that the Google dance even happens anymore. (I stand corrected though).

I think it is a panda thing, I had a huge drop in 2 main keywords (from no 1-2 on page 2 to pages 5 and 6), built a few new backlinks with different keywords to my main ones, removed my link exchange page (yes I lost link exchange backlinks for this), got a few google +1 clicks through plused.net and after a week my main keyword was no 8 on google page 1 for the term (162000000 results ) and my other main is no 1 on page 2. I also built a new page. Seems to have worked a treat, have you got a google +1 button?

Recently the only things that I have changed on my site is adding more unique content and more affiliate links (redirection 301). My backlinks are not strange, since they are not low quality and they are done manually. The only thing that is weird about my backlinks, that I have like 100 backlinks coming from the same blog and another 150 from the same blog. I give you example in attachment.
Today I will try to reduce my affiliate links on my website and I also try to change the theme, maybe something got really bad during update.. I also haven't received any message from google or yahoo.

You wont recieve any messages. Try and get a great variety of sources of backlinks. backlinks247.info is good for free ones, the best start I can recommend is use the directory submitter here on IMTalk, lots of my authority links are from directories. The more variety the better. Submit to blogs that have 'comment luv', a useful tool.
As i previously said if you don't have a google +1 button, get one, it does make a difference, you can see this in google webmaster tools.

Sometimes i got confuse between google dance and google sandbox term. some said if your site not in stable position in serp between 1-2 weeks, it is called google dance, but if your site being throw away at hundred of SERP result, or you got tired pressing next result to find your page, it is called sandboxed situation, sandboxed situation will got recover 1-2 months and even to 6 months depend on what you have done or alter the site optimization

It has been gone now for 2 weeks. However my site PR has gone from 0 to PR4 (just 40 days old site), which is interesting. My site SERPS also move UP in YAHOO and MSN searchengines, but my main page is still gone from GOOGLE :/

if your site has been penalties by Google then it should be showed in Google webmaster tools. It's easy to find out, just send a message to Google through your webmaster tools. They will reply you within a week or 2.

welcome to the Panda Party, you are most probably hit by Panda...

Latest panda update is notonly about unique content but also about freshness of content, if you posting same old story in new words, you have unique content but google is not going to like you

Hmm something like this happened to me. My new site was on first page for a few weeks, then it disappeared from all keywords searches, but it bounced right back after about a month. So you'll be fine I suppose. Btw, I didn't do any backlinks or new content after it lost ranks. If you do, you'll probably come back in a better position than before.

Wow, that's very motivational story! I have stopped adding new content and backlinks, since I have started other projects. I will tell you when it comes back(if it comes). Thanks.

A method which i personally have confidence in is spacing out my backlinking activities by 2-3 days for each time i build them. I believe doing things in moderation is what works. I have started new sites, allowed them to age about 3 months, and built backlinks from there: one day submit articles, allow 2-3 days rest before i do more submissions, allow another 2-3 days, and so on. Works for me, no penalty so far.

building too many links are somehow spamming. like, you have 10 pages in your website. but you keep on backlinking the homepage for 500 links. maybe that is the reason why you lost your traffics.

This is definitely Google Dance that your position went down because if you are penalyzed then you would be out of the search or in the end page of the Google SERP.
