Does Alexa rank help in selling domain names and websites?
Google PR is based off of the authority of a site. Alexa rank is based off of the traffic of a site. If you have a good page rank or Alexa rank, it will be easier to sell a website to people. Selling a domain name would depend on whether the domain name is a popular keyword. Work on trying to get traffic to your website first in order to make page rank and Alexa rank better.
Very true.Google PR is based off of the authority of a site. Alexa rank is based off of the traffic of a site.
Moreover, I would like to add that Page Rank and Alexa Rank are evaluated in the opposite directions like: the more PR value indicates the more authority of the site and the lesser Alexa Rank indicates the more traffic to your site.
Google Pr is assigned to webpages based on the reputation of the page. Pr is assigned on the sale of 1-10.
You need to have relevant authority backlinks o improve PR of your website.
Alexa rank is assigned to websites, it is count of clicks on pages from Alexa traffic (people who have Alexa toolbar on their system are called Alexa traffic) Improving Alexa traffic is very simple, you just need to install Alexa toolbar on your website and visit it few times a day.
In my opinion, both the ranks are not worth considering.

Google page rank despond on website quality, traffic, back links.
Alexa ranking despond on the traffic.
Both are important to have for website .
Very good advice, it would be helpful to many site owners.
There are so many websites on page one on google for high competition keywords, but without pagerank. It can have a good Alexa ranking though. Don't hang too much on Google PR, because it doesn't really make a difference for traffic. However, creating backlinks on high PR websites or blogs helps for your own listing and ranking.
Backlinks and quality content is the most important for generating traffic through search engines. Not pagerank.

Simply, Google PR is a rank given for each individual page of a website. While Alexa Rank is a rank given to a website as a whole.

PR is a one iof google algorithms.
Alexa its a popularity statistic.
Alexa rank is a skewed popularity statistic. Alexa does not count actual visitors, just visits by people using the Alexa toolbar. If your site is of interest to the demographic of Alexa toolbar users it will have a better chance of having a top or higher ranking in Alexa. Some of my busiest sites do not rank well at Alexa because few of the visitors to those sites are Alexa toolbar users.Alexa its a popularity statistic.

PR is for a web page and alexa rank id for the whole site.
Alexa rank gives an estimation of traffic while Google PR is hard to understand...
Boy is it ever! SEO related sites get high 'traffic' rank from Alexa that does NOT correspond to actual, real-world traffic in the least. NORMAL PEOPLE OUT IN THE REAL WORLD don't even know Alexa exists! People who aren't web masters don't install the Alexa Toolbar, and don't care. Worse, I think people who flip websites - or more accurately those that buy them should NOT assign much relevance to Alexa numbers. What Google, Bing and Yahoo can send to a site MATTERS 1000x more than Alexa-anything.
I do think that Alexa has recently become a more valuable tool - that has NOTHING to do with it's dumb rankings. In the past year they've started showing Search Queries and up/down trending key phrases. Very useful for evaluating and comparing keyword stats for your own sites - or when doing competitive analysis.
Alexa also has a VERY different view of your backlinks - I often see backlinks at Alexa that other tools aren't showing me. Helps prove that some link building I've done is actually getting picked up on - tho it's by no means comprehensive.
