Following are the 16 tips to promote your blog or website..

1. Title Tags

2. Decide between these two www and non www versions of your website and redirect it to one of them to the other

3. Create a Sitemap

4. Submit your Sitemap to Google, Yahoo, and Bing.

5. Put your keywords in the H1, H2 Tags

6. Include your keywords in the url of the page

7. Link to other relevant pages include keywords

8. Optimize your images

9. Join Identi.ca. its like other social bookmarking sites but its do follow.

10.Find some authoritative sites

11. Udr the ping list with WordPress.

12. Bookmark your site

13. Burn your feed, using feedburner.

14. Submit your rss feed to rss directories.

15. Find some large forums in your niche and participate in them. Include signature links//

16. Comment on niche blogs ,mostly on dofollow blogs..

The main thing to promote the blog is, Guest Posting. Now a days, Guest Posting is most important way to promote any blog. But, you have to post on your niche relate blog. Huge traffic can be received.

Every link is good, but only relevant and if possible in content links will eventually get you at the top 10.

Thanks for tips guys, but I don't do much onpage seo , I use WP blogs with seo module added and configured.

Thanks for the tips. I think article marketing is one of the best! I would say the best idea is to choose the best method, and work to perfect it. Rather get the best method to work perfectly than to get a half done job and work with ten other different tactics. I would say long term tactics work the best. Those that require consistency and patience. That will lead to success!

Be shure that you bette use .GIF

.JPG are sometimes too big and need long loading time..

but you can also use .PNG Files for your pics

how can use ALT text in wordpress please :-)

As I recall it is in the image dialog near the top. Just fill in all the blanks in the image dialog when you post an image.

What do you mean by content links? Can you clarify?

In-content links are links in some texts/articles/news, etc...
For examle this is in content link to this thread.
Because it is surrounded with text it has more value, like editorial value which google is sucker for..
I hope that this explain that in content links...
