I see a lot of people here questioning "how to generate free traffic". So felt like making this thread.The following are the best free ways to generate traffic to your website without any real pain.These methods work with affiliate programs too

1. Article Marketing(hubpages,articlebase)
2. Social Media(Facebook,twitter)
3. Social Bookmarking(Digg)
4. Yahoo! Answers(Easiest way)
5. Video Marketing(youtube)
6. Forum Marketing
7. SEO(the best of the lot)

Depends upon you,which one to choose

Out of the techniques you have described above, I have probably had the most success with article submission, forum posting and social media marketing. I also suggest to use guest posting because it is also one of the best ways to produce traffic to your blog or website.

I'm using only SEO now, i must diversify that cos gogle is a mad man nowday.

The way I see it, 1-6 are very strongly associated with SEO these days. Especially after the recent Peng update it is becoming clear that concentrating on legit white hat techniques is becoming more and more important for long-term success.

So I'd suggest that if you are doing content marketing, video marketing and the likes just concentrate on creating great content that people would want to share, and just make sure you get the on page SEO and social media connectivity right to have a good base for the natural backlinking, sharing and indexing to happen.

While that was my first impression I don't believe that to be the case. When SeoTube makes shorter posts he generally writes in English, but when he has more complex ideas that he wishes to express I believe that he writes in his native language and runs his answer through a translation program. Remember, this is an international forum. While English is the official language of the forum native English speakers are almost certainly in the minority. There are limitations with all translator programs with which I have experience, but if you read the post for the meaning rather than the words you can see the value.

Hint: try substituting 'guest posting' for 'invitee publishing' and probably 'drive' for 'garden truck'.

This could be the case. Especially with Google Translate. It translates literally from one language to another and is definitely not perfect. It has a problem with tenses at the best of times. I use it for comic relief translating sentences from English to Afrikaans (one of the other languages here), and the results are often more hilarious than the saying that was in English.

As I understand it, Google Translate is an AI algorithm that does learn and gets better with time. It does better with major languages because its database is bigger. It is much better now than when I first started using it. It is, though, basically a translator. There are translators and interpreters. A translator translates the words to the alternate language. An interpreter takes the meaning from the base language and expresses that in the terms of the alternate language. Translation is basically a dictionary function while interpretation is much more complex.

Of the methods that you have listed above, I get most of my traffic from Yahoo Answers, forum posting, twitter, and social bookmarking (Digg and Delicious). I bet I will start getting some traffic through search, once my sites grow in age. I am currently doing a lot of linking campaigns.

I have seen huge traffic through youtube if your site is related to s3x/p0rn industries
