Thread: Site Timeout is Too Soon!

I've lost a three posts that I have posted that were of some value and were of decent size, but the forum times out and logouts way too soon. As well, when I hit the back button the post is gone. This is ridiculous, if you want people browse the forum and then make some posts. I don't know about other people but it's discouraging me from posting and getting involved with this forum.

If people aren't idle (visiting posts and so on) for 10-15 minutes than they shouldn't have to log back in when posting.

Have you tried clicking on "remember me" when you log in? I do that when I sign on in the mornings, and it keeps me logged in until I close my browser. It would have been awesome to have read your posts. Welcome to IMT.

I click the remember me option and it has never logged me out. I have done the same on my iPod and my Android. I have run this setup for a couple of weeks and nothing has happened

I do understand what you mean though, having a site make you login every time can be very discouraging

Now it is VB default of 15 minutes, but I can change it to nay number you wish, so can you all please suggest some number you would like?
Optionally you can tick remember me as suggested.

I think 30 minutes is a good number. That gives you enough time to write a long post

I increased this to 30 minutes as per request.

I just want to add that I never experienced time out, it might be because I tick that little "remember me" check box, you can try that also.

I also was having some problems with the timeout but it does not seem to happen anymore.
