wordpress, better for SEO in my opinion. Also much more flexible, with the plugins, theme etc.

Wordpress ofcourse .... No doubt about it !! Best in SEO, Lots of free resources like plugins, themes...etc
Planning on wordpress itself. I just visited the site and downloaded the latest wordpress available. I am now reading on the page to know what I should do.
There is a WP update to Version 3.5 that is scheduled to be released today or tomorrow. If the version number that you downloaded is 3.4.2 you may want to wait before you upload and install. Updates are very easy with WP, so if you install the package before the new version is released a quick click of the update button in the admin UI will get the update for you. WordPress is updated regularly, so you will be doing this from time to time, anyway.

Definetely wordpress. It is a lot easier and useful for SEO.
I saw it in a SitePoint newsletter this morning. I have been checking through the day and have not seen it yet. There was an RC3 released just a couple of days ago, so it is possible they decided to make a change before the release. At any rate the release is close. The SitePoint post about it is here.

Yes according to sitepoint, the update should have released by today... don't know why there's no sign of it ! BTW there are some really cool improvements to wordpress especially the removal of blogroll
I am understanding nothing. Neither the install process. I just got a folder with lots of things in it. Anyway I like to learn so will read the wordpress page for more info in seiting it up.
If you're able to install and setup wordpress...its well and good But if not then you might consider my http://www.imtalk.org/f22/9358-wordp...n-service.html
Blogger does a lot of good things, especially if you use the 'custom' feature. The custom feature means you no longer have the 'blogspot' in your domain name.
Yes, there are many plugins you can use on WP, but not on Blogger, which is a point in favor of WP. But the other side of the story is that most of the plugins don't work. People buy lots and lots of plugins, yet never see improvement. I'd rather not get addicted to the WP plugins. Most of them underdeliver.
Agree but the major disadvantage is that it is hosted on Google.... means for any violation of terms, they have the right to delete the blog ! Imagine you have a popular blog and it gets deleted, How would you feel?
I partially agree with you ... It is true that there are numerous plugins available in WP directory out of which some are of no use. But the ones that are popular/featured prove to be really useful (I myself had a blog ranked top using WP)
Ans I want to know if the popular plugins are free or paid.
I am paying attention to all this. Once my wordpress is ready I will go for the plugins. I am much concentrating on build my main website first. Then I will come to blogs.
this wordpress.com or the install cuz it'd be good just to use both web2 wp.com and blogger.com as tier 1's
