Even with blogger custom feature plus your own domain name, still they have control over it. If they find or think your blog is spammy then they will take it down. There is no way to get it restored after that. With your own Wordpress blog in your own hosting account you have total control over it about what you post and how you do it. Also Wordpress has lots of good free plugings and templates.

This is a complaint about Blogger I see repeated often. It is true, Blogger can and does delete blogs when you least expect it. But there are three good answers to this complaint:

    1. If you have a custom domain Blogger can delete you, but it rarely does to custom domains unless you are breaking a serious rule.

    2. It is a very simple matter to copy the entire contents of your blog and have a separate copy handy if the blog gets deleted. Blogger gives simple instructions to copy. It takes less than 5 minutes a week (if you want to copy 1x per week). If they delete your blog and you have a copy you can start a new Blogger blog in five minutes and import the contents into your new blog in a minute or so. Of course, you might not want to use the same contents on Blogger again. So, instead, start a new WP blog and use the 'import' feature to import your saved contents into the new WP blog. Again, it takes five minutes at most and you have a new blog with all your old contents.

    3. Even more important (and harder to understand if you do not take the time to think): If Blogger/Google deletes your blog it is because you are violating an important rule. The same rule you violated which got you thrown off Blogger will also keep you at the very bottom of Google's list. If you violated an important rule Google will almost certainly NOT give you good ratings. Your blog will probably get zero searches because Google will not send you new visitors. If you flunk out of Blogger you also flunk out of Google search. If you want to spend time and energy on a bad, dumb blog and keep it for years on WP, go ahead. But it will not rank anywhere on SEO. You ask "Imagine you have a popular blog and it gets deleted, How would you feel?" A blog that's bad enough to be kicked off of Blogger never was a 'popular' blog. Google would never have allowed it to be popular.

I think WordPress is better than Blogger because it's better for SEO, you can make tags on your post. Many plugins support with WordPress.

    1) Google don't delete your site because you have custom domains but usually those who use custom domains only when they have a old blog when they like to take it to next level. Google don't delete years old blogs even if those have too many affiliate links and stuff ( not unless you push your luck farther). Or if someone do try to go all the pain to settup a custom domain with Blogger they use it something really important than affiliate site. Like lets say a blog about a local charity. But here we are all doing IM and not that innocent.

    3) On yes Blogger do kick off blogs "popular" or not. First part is Locking the blog. This is an automated process and this automated process is notorious for locking even cleanest blogs. But problem is what comes next. DELETE is done by human verifying process (or they say so) and if you have affiliate links in this blogs then you have very little chance to recover it. They tend to delete locks blogs with affiliate links no matter how good or unique the content. Even if it rank at top of SERP. I know this because it has happened to me.

The thing about Google search or blogger is , It's not that their rules and guide lines that help you to survives but understanding how they work and flow. Don't go believing everything Google parrots like Mat cutt says. or their rules says. Most of their stuff are automated so you just need to know how to stay alive. Blogger is a great way to get quality traffic and I have tested various things for years and learned a lot. So now I have Blogger blogs which hasn't deleted by their bot or human watchers for a long time. Most important thing is not get caught by their spam bot.

Never Felt home with Joomla. Too complicated and need too much work than Wordpress. Also it's too big for smaller sites. Wordpress is easy to use and even if you don't know anything about HTML you can figure everything in no time at all.

I use wordpress and I am with wordpress because I think wordpress is easy to integrate with many wordpress plugins that can do more advanced functions.

You can do so much more with Wordpress when you consider the plugins. Like managing all plugins from just one site. Here is a FREE site where you can keep all of your plugins updated on a daily basis all from one dashboard instead of go to each and every site. It saves tons of time and it is 100% free to use for this purpose. https://wpremote.com/

I will surely vote for wordpress only because blogger has many rules and conditions. We can not change our design or plugins.

Popular plugins are free only. But you need to select a spam free and genuine plugin then only your website will be in safe zone.

Oh, that's really cool. You can design your main website in html then you can think about your blog.
