It is a nice looking site, but there is a big gap between the top of the window and the top of the page. This may be space allocated for an ad banner by the theme designer, but I would consider removing that space so that more of your content shows above the fold, particularly if you are not intending to place a banner there.

As Wink0r said, I would remove the space then the first picture will be visible as soon as you open the page so you will be immediately drawn in

You should optimized the images you should also minimize browser request(198 request that’s a lot) every thing else looks good. see. google developer page speed test.
