Thread: Profile links...blackhat?

I have been thinking for a while, aren't profile links black hat seo methods. You technically making the links yourself which is what google does not want?


By the way, profile backlinks is not a good method for authoritative websites, and long term effect.

So, you never use profile links for your seo methods?

the profile link can't be described as blackhat if it use wisely, i mean not purposely make a profile link hundred per day by using software.. profile link is good if you are active in that site and contribute a lot, so people will visit you profile page and get to know you, and also click your link

Yes if used normally like in your sig then I don't understand why it would be considered a blackhat method.

Like Franberries said, it could be considered a backhat if you use a software to generate thousands a day or something.

I dont think it would be blackhat as the last couple of people have said. I think if it was to be considered anything blackhat it would be considered generating thousands abound thousands a day.

if you are too afraid that profile can be considered as blackhat, you just need to do it consistently, which mean 2 link per day, and link it as a second tier of your backlink

I must say, your backlink in your profile is a backlink, but posting on forums with your signature showing has more effect if you're a regular poster.

black, white, pink seo LOL all of this things is invited for manipulate serp. Use all of them if they work so, where is Your problem point?

Its a Mis-conception that Profile Backlinks are Blackhat SEO. If you are in the making of thousands & thousands of Links daily by any method then all the methods will be dangerous & blackhat.

If you are concenterating on Quality of Links with Right Quantity then it will sure be helpful to you. Time is also the major factor involved in it. Do not make thousand links everyday instead make less than hundred links but Quality Ones.

I dont think they are black hat if made naturally. But I think they have less value.

Profile links are not blackhat. Blackhat by definition is trying to manipulate the search engines for higher rankings, and profile backlinks are just that backlinks, they do not have much strength bearing on the search engine results. The only way possible is could be considered black hat is if Google Bot see your site get hundreds if not thousands of profile backlinks within a day or few days. Otherwise I wouldn't be concerned if you are doing them manually.

yes it is true andre, backlink is always be a backlink, the thing is don't over do it, don't put too much skeptical to backlink resources no matter what kind of backlinks that you have made (article,blog comment, directories, etc)
