How To Clean An Email List

Hey,
Need to clean one of my email list`s, Downloaded one of my list`s from aweber and they won`t let me upload it to my account say it has to many dead email address`s in it, is there a way i can clean the dead emails from it as it`s a 5k list and don`t want to just chuck it away, Iknow it has buyer in it

thanks found one on there that is $8 a month so i will go with that for a month and check my other list`s also, don`t see any point in paying aweber for dead email address`s
