To do will with pinterest you really need to develop good boards. Clicking on a couple of the links above there are people with 10 pins wanting to use it for seo. Get more pins in your niche and find other normal human members not bots or seo people and pin their stuff and follow them. You will soon see your own stuff re-pinned and you being followed quite quickly.
I had pinterest for quite some time and didn't really use it. Last month i have used it more and suddenly my pins and links are being shared more plus getting some traffic too.
Try and use these things as a normal person would and you will get good dividends. Plus less risk that the sites will get rid of you when they have clean ups for spam
