Thread: What a Week!!!

Thanks to this forum, (and Mr OneStopVapors), I've had a heck of a week. In six days I've managed to get six new clients for my writing work at $8 per 500 words (which is still cheaper than I usually charge - in fact, $25 is my highest paying client). I'm not bragging or anything here, but after my long term job at a travel writing company suddenly took a turn for the worse, them losing clients all over the place I had to revert back to freelancing and it seems I'd forgotten just how much I enjoy it.

One thing's for sure, upfront payment or deny the client. I paid $25 to list an advert on a different forum and I've made around $600 out of it. Pretty good going. Just a shame the $ is so poor when you exchange it.

I've started a new e-commerce shop selling dropshipping items (using 3 different dropshippers) - spurred on by onestopvapors .

This morning I had a bid, which I accepted, for two of my sites which I was gonna let drop off. They cost me $11 and have made around $5 in a year (hence why I didn't want to continue with them) and someone has bought them for $100!!!

I've also had an email asking to buy advertising space on one of my gambling sites. Thing is, their SEO is terrible so I've sent a proposal and hopefully get not only advertising payments but I might dip into SEO consultancy, which his my hope for the future. Also, I have two positive clients for my new SEO business from Elance, just waiting to finalise details.

Sorry for the long-winded post, but I'm pumped up after two weeks ago having the terrible news of my wife having a miscarriage, which is the second this year and we've been trying for 7 months now to start our own family. It sucks, but it seems that the page has turned for us in 2011.

I just want this to motivate you guys. If you're down and have bad news, then some good news is just around the corner. That's not to say you have to sit back and wait for it, go and get it. Make goals and your future will work itself out.

Thank you Nemanja. What I wrote there I need to keep referring to it, to keep me pumped up. I think once the ball starts rolling, you have to keep up the momentum. I've added 3 more clients, one even gave me a $12 bonus and has started paying $12 per article instead of $8, which is awesome. I honestly think that as soon as you get one good piece of news, the rest follows.

We're so happy about the e-commerce store. My wife has found more dropshippers which were even better than before, so the profit margins are wider There's a long way to go with it, although we've generating good interest on Facebook and Twitter. I'm still learning SMM and it does seem to be an awesome way to gain customers.
