Thread: Displaying excerpts on homepage !

Hello,

Using Genesis framework with generate child theme!



I am willing to limit the no. of characters to 250 on the homepage but even after setting the limit, the entire post is being shown up on the homepage of my blog.

Any genesis expert to guide me on this !

Use Display post excerpts from the drop down!

Already did that but nothing happened ... The entire post is shown on the homepage! Am I required to add any piece of code ?

No need to edit anything, I just tested that option and gave you screenshot after confirming that its working...!

Issue resolved ... Had to change some parameters in home and functions.php file

set up featured image while publishing a post, it will show up as post thumbnail for most of the wp themes!

As far as I remember, I did nothing special ... Post thumbnails were getting displayed by default. Only thing I did is that I adjusted the thumbnail size by adding a new "add_image_size" (170 x 170 px) function and changed the feature_content_limit to 200

I'm sorry, I just misspelled your name, I was on my iPhone.

I can't still find the solution to display post thumbnail on homepage. Actually, a month ago I made some changes in the themes files to remove grids and big featured post image that appeared on the homepage. And the problem is I forgot what I changes I did..

Sorry buddy, as I am using Genesis framework for the first time, I too don't have much knowledge about it!
