Thread: Wordpress Pingback?

Hey guys,

Just a question. On wordpress I have a site which has had it's article pingbacked, now it links to my site and im not linking back. Does this count as a Oneway backlink? or is it not a backlink?

I'm confused as to whether or not this is a good thing? Thanks guys

It's a backlink, but probably a low quality and not using YOUR keywords.

i think as long as you don't link back, it can't be considered as one way backlink.. my blog also sometimes received comment that want me to pingback to them

A pingback is essentially a reciprocal link between two sites, right? One-way backlinks are better for SEO compared to reciprocal links. Delete them so they turn into one-way backlinks!
I think it doesn't hurt SEO and I think it actually helps since it becomes a backlink.

When the article links back to your site, it will be treated as a backlink.
It is a one way link and there’s nothing bad about it since backlinks are essential part of SEO strategies.
If your article carries quality content, it will increase the credibility of backlink.

regarding the keywords, the hyperlinked word was infact related. Does that improve things?

It is always a backlink, One way or reciprocal depends on whether both sites linking to each other or not ?

Pingback is just a link exchange between two wordpress blog sites. If you receive pingback from quality and relevant site means pingback them so that it helps to improve your traffic. And it is treated as backlinks.

it depend on you, if you think the sites that want you to pingback have some kind of value (good traffic, low OBL), you can pingback to them, you also can get little advantages, but it always rely on certain circumstances

Good for fast index your website, for traffic depend how much you post...

Yes it is backlink but off course low value or no worth in Google. Normally such links are nofollow.
