How Can I ensure that my site stays in its position?

My site was in the third position for the whole of last week but suddenly it has disappeared from the search engine. This has become a frequent occurrence. I want to know what steps I have to take in order to ensure that my site stays in its position or at least in the same page.

Yep, not much you can do about it unfortunately. Keep link building and keep adding fresh content. Thats about as much as we can control
