    Can SEO works for redirect URL?

    I am very new in IM, this is the case I want know... If I register a domain URL but I use it to redirect visitors to my amazon store, can SEO works for that URL? Which mean, can I build any backlinks to that URL?

    Yes you can, but depends which redirect you are talking about.
    If you are going to use 301 redirect than all your backlinks will be passed to that redirected url(same with 302).
    If you want to do some sneaky javascript redirect then your backlinks will stay to original url.

    Actually the amazon store front page already have PR1, but to promote a main domain is easier than a deep link (I suppose something like "amazon.com/shops/xxxx" is deep link?)

    Yes, your best option to is get 1-5 domains and put some content on them. Then promote these new domains(build links). After you done the promotion then 301 redirect each domain(one by one, every week or so, not all at once) to your amazon store.
    Also in meanwhile build links with article marketing, blog posts, social bookmark, blog commenting to that amazon stroe and you will see SERP climb up.
    Don't over do it with the backlinks, take it slow.
