So why do you think PP is the most popular way to spend online?

When I though about this to myself I couldn't really think of anything that made them that special I know that they were there for the longest time but I dont think that would make that big of a difference.. So what do you think makes them so big?

Paypal is owned by Ebay, who requires customers to use Paypal for all payments. Sellers online use Paypal as their payment system because of its popularity among customers. It is a secure way to make payments because it is not necessary to give out their credit card numbers to merchants. For those with or without credit cards, it is a quick and convenient way to pay online.

Oh duh, I totally forgot that Ebay owns PP.. That was a totally a epic fail for me.. So lets discuss besides just that reason..

So eBay took away all the hardwork and made PayPal.

For the record, PayPal was an acquisition for eBay. It was a going concern before eBay bought the company.
