    promoting anything on internet

Well, first of all what you are going to promote, if you are going to promote your services then forums are good place as forums are discussion places so you would be able to solve any question asked by users this way you can sell your services and forums are used widely so it would give good benefit.

Social networking sites are also good but you have to make good fan lists first then you would be able to say something to them

Forums and social networking both are useful and each one of them has its own benefits. Forums are good for getting backlinks for your site and social networks are useful in a way that those help to get instant traffic for your sites and help to get regular followers and visitors for your sites.

I would create good quality content, add keywords for your niche, then post aticles, use forum signatures and find ones that are do follow, link all these to each other and apoint them to your money site. When done properly it works very well.

It seems that each has its pros and cons. I write articles, blogs, constantly add content. Still waiting for the eagle to land but it will come... :-)

    Hi,

Providing qualitative information to visitor is the best way that you may acquire in internet marketing to promote your business. If you are writing a content then you must provide unique and real information in it to grab the attention of visitor. I think you got my point. Is it?

Everyone can write some unique content and it works best for SEO purposes.
However, for your marketing and grabbing your prospect's attention a lot more is needed...

Marketing is a HUGE area and without proper knowledge about it you'll never get out of it what you could...

I am strongly agree with it that social networking is the most beneficial and effective way to promote your business. In all the business industries, people have been shifted towards social media to promote their business as it is the most profitable to target a large number of customers.

That's the thing with social networks...you won't acquire a lotof customers.
Yes, lots of businesses advertise and promote their business, but it's no wat the best way to acquire customers...

Think about your own behaviour on social networks...it's spammed to death and you most likely won't even click on 99% of whatever links you find there.
Mind you, the vast majority of people on social networks try to get as many friends and followers as possible and most of them for the same reason every other internet marketer does it. Meaning traffic from social networks is hardly targeted. WebProNews has researched the biggest social networks thoroughly and found out that traffic from them "sucks" (their own words).

I think the social networks have had its prime time...there are much better ways and much more effective, too.
After actively marketing on social networks I've only made a handful of sales, but after investing more time in getting affiliates to promote for me and after investing just a bit of money on paid traffic I've has a lot more success and a lot more revenue.

Yes. I get a few new followers to our company twitter every now and then, and to be honest, i would rather they found someone else to "bother". When they follow me, and I follow them back, in return, I get a new message from them, thanking me for following them, with a link placed to their product/service/app... its annoying. Social networks may be there for a person to network clients, promote a business/product, but you need to be careful when you use them. Don't always link to your site/product, mix it up a bit. talk to the people you follow instead of talking in links. It would work out a lot better for you because people will see that you're not just there to drop links, get links, and advertise. (my 2 cents anyhoo)

Based on experience, many of my customers came from social networking sites. It really depends on your product and on how you promote it. consumers would love your marketing strategy if its normally given. you interact with people and talk about their needs.

I think social media is showing its best effect when used to promote local offline business. A lot of local businessman has take advantages by mixing their offline and online promotion. For example, there are a lot of food court in my place that offering discount for buyer who willing to tweet/like and giving testimonial on the food court’s fan-page.

Local businesses are indeed more in advantage to social media, however for international business social media is less effective. People engage in things they understand better in social media and are less likely to respond to some events or offers that are hundred of miles away.
