I was wondering that where exactly should i advertise my blog? What works best? What is the cheapest? All of these need answers, hope you can help, thanks !

there is a free way and also paid way, depend on your strategies and your budget... so what kind of niche that you are promoting?

I have success promote blog and make a lot of friend with technorati and stumbleupon. You should try it and get the most out of their service.

if you want to bring traffic quickly, use of media advertising. try with a cheap PPV like adf dot ly, the price is cheap enough for 1000 unique visitors, but you must know a lot of visitors should have a good conversion for your blog, such as adsense or affiliate in your blog. so you have to know what traffic you need.

I think since Cicisp talking about “advertise”, he/she’s looking for the paid way. My idea is still going to PPC but you need to learn how to create ads that generates high CTR. High CTR on PPC = low CPC rate. There are a lot of good PPC networks, google adwords, Facebook ads (the most popular in this day), or Ms Adcenter.

One of the best ways to advertise your blog is by distributing your RSS feed to RSS feed directories/aggregators. This is very powerful because your blog could end up being picked up and linked to by relevant, authority and news sites! Also there are several blog directories around that you can do a search for. One very popular one is Technorati.

According to me, real success of your blog can be measured by genuine no. of readers you have who like to read your post and want to give opinion and waiting for next update from you. So you should advertise on places where there would be chance to get genuine readers. Advertisement on popular content distribution sites would be good option. If you are using Adword for paid advertising, don't forget to use feature which re-target the users by displaying your ads to other sites to users who have already seen your ads on other website previously.

Choosing to advertise our blog to be shown on publisher website isn't worth, sometime the blog isn't really targeted to our keywords.
It's better to filter our advertisement to be appear only on google search engine.

Have you done testing or seen good information by others that have tested this? Google's ad targeting for its content network is generally pretty good, so people that see the ads on publisher's sites should be fairly well targeted. There is no cost difference, you only pay when someone clicks your ad link.

It's based on my experience. When my ads shown on publisher site, the ratio of Page Impression and Click isn't good. The CTR become lower and causing expensive CPC rate.

I am not an Adwords user, but I thought that the maximum CPC was your bid price for the keyword. Google claims to display the highest bid first on search pages and through the content network but only charge a slight premium over the next lower bid price, so if you bid one dollar and the next lower bid was fifty cents you would actually pay something like fifty-five cents.

Yep, like above ^ if you haven't tried out social media.. I suggest you do
