Mobile Marketing and effective ways to do it.

Please read the blog post before you answer Would love to hear your thoughts.

Everyone knows that there is a mobile market out there, but how many actually use it or use it to its full potential?

People love their smartphones. Whether you're walking down the street or inside a shopping mall, sitting in a coffee shop or at the airport, half the people around you are looking down at their cellphones.

Eighty-three percent of American adults own a cell phone, and 42 percent of them own a Blackberry, iPhone, or a similar smartphone, according to a recent Pew Internet Project report. The study also found that 87 percent of smartphone users access the Internet or email on their device. Two-thirds of smartphone users do so daily. Increasingly, just as how the home broadband connection remains always on, the mobile connection seems to be ever present.
Interesting? This was taken from entrepreneur and shows 6 ways to use mobile marketing effectively.

What are your thoughts on the tips in the blog?

I think that these tips are becoming more important as the smartphone craze continues. If I had a brick and mortar business, I would certainly be doing these very inexpensive marketing techniques. Unfortunately, most of these techniques do not apply to my business model.

The big one that applies to everyone is sending mobile friendly emails, and I am already doing that.

I have been looking into ways to make my website mobile friendly. I've already spent lots of time optimizing my content for speed. I would like to create a mobile version, but my CMS is not a mobile friendly platform. I would have to rebuild my whole website again. Eventually, I will do that, but for now, I have to concentrate on marketing.

    Great post!

    Thank you.

There are a lot of ways to use mobile marketing and I guess it would be really powerful someone that has an actual store etc. But, like you said, sending mobile friendly mails might just be one of the best ways for others that don't have a store. With most smartphones (I know I can do this with my iPhone4), you can view a site as is, and you would still be able to buy from it as you usually would, so in a sense, the sales page to email approach could definitely be implemented on bigger scale. The only downside is that they would have to log into a PC to download, which is a small price to pay really if you sell a truly great product.

How would you structure a mobile marketing campaign?

Mobile marketing is now something companies are targeting as a market tool. I have seen companies sending marketing messages (SMS) and are now also keen on developing WAP friendly pages. As the trend for using smart phones is growing companies are more likely to acquire for their benefit.

I can vouch for the SMS's. I get them on a daily basis. I have noticed many businesses here also use their websites and mobile pages in their adverts, so it definitely looks as if it is going to be a big factor in IM soon. If it already isn't.

    Hi,
Mobile marketing is the most effective and a known way now a days to promote your product. The way to do mobile marketing is that you just have to send mobile messages to all users after every one month just as a reminder otherwise it will become teaser. You do not have to send any teaser but a short and concise message for promotion. It will be good for you.

with more and more user increase every minutes, there's no doubt smartphones users are craving to surf internet on their mobile, the thing is, they must surf the internet based on html browser, if not your ads or your website that being promoted can't be seen by user.. i wonder if someone search something on Google by using their smartphones.. is it the same if search on the PC as well

Search on mobile is different than search on PC by default. It is personalized the same way that search on PC search is personalized and optimized for mobile. However, like search on PC, you can turn personalization off.

i think the same way also. because when i look at google adword tools, we also can choose results in term of mobility result that come from mobile phones.. non-html browser on mobile phones maybe give the different results

I got e-mail from Colleen (one of Amazon affiliate marketer experts). She’s inform me that Jeff Bezos (Amazon CEO) stated if more than billion of Amazon sale was from mobile traffic.

I believe mobile marketing/advertising is very potential. In fact, a lot of e-course and digital product about how to do mobile marketing is start to appear. And this is become my reason on buying WP Touch Pro, is a WP premium plug-in to convert my website to mobile version.
