if you are doing freelance works along with your regular work then don't leave your regular work until you are financially strong because in freelance you may also have too see that some times you may not have any work to do.....

Also, don't stick with only one freelance sites, if you are not getting clients then you can use other ways as well like forums, creating your service sites then optimize them with the main keyword so that you can also get some clients from search engines.

You need to find something you are better then anyone else. You also need lots of reviews so people trust you. It is very important to be unque and get people's attention .

True. At the moment I work for a company, and have been for more than a year now. I work as a contractor through a contractor site, but at the same time feel part of the team because of the great people I work with. I don't just do one kind of work either. I am a designer, I designed concepts for site mascots, and still am. I am going to be designing WordPress sites for them, and I work as an Professional Internet Marketer, SEO Exec. and virtual assistant. I can honestly say that I love it.

But with that, there comes risk. You need to be able to trust the people you work with and that's what makes it all worthwhile. There are many sites that are reputable, but even so, you will find that there are many people that abuse that system. Trying to avoid them is like walking blindfolded around a house at night. Learning how to handle people like that would be a better option. That way you would still get work, and get paid for it all in one go.

If you still aren't getting enough work done, advertise around a bit. Start a blog, get it popular and well visited and show off what you can do. In the end, its what you put in, that gets your your rewards.

I think you should also know about time management, because without it you couldn't be able to get success in freelancing work. You will have to manage both work together. Sometimes freelancers use to think about resigning from office work....I think you should continue office work untill you have strong financial budget.

Good to add some it-skill to other type of business possibilities. Like when you doing online-shop and already expert in that stuff what you selling there> But maybe perfect CEO is enough...
