When I login lately all I see is new members posting their introductory threads. I know Nemanja you have done this to help stop spammers but the reality is that it's just diluting the forum with so many of these posts. It makes it hard to find any real threads and must be diluting the content Google sees.
Is there any way of stopping this?
Yes, I understand, but just ignore these hello threads.
The amount of spam we get each they without these intro threads is enormous.
As far as I can see other options would be, manual approval, which is seriously time consuming, considering activity on the forum and the fact that people mostly come here for tools and never post a thing.
Other is to disable registration which defeats the purpose of having forum in the fist place.
So I'm open to some really good suggestions :)
Does the forum software not have plugins/extensions which help with spammers?
Yes, we have few...but they pass all them... So I resorted to this solution and the situation is much better now.Quote:
