Simple steps to 'save for web devices' in adobe photo shop.

Adobe photo shop plays a vital role in web template design and image optimization.
Image optimization means, save your large size images and pics to 72 resolutions range.

Take a image, open it in photo shop.
Next go to file options in the tool bar of adobe photo shop software.
Then select "Save for Web' or use its short cut Alt+Shift+Ctrl+S, then a window will appears.
Here you have to be careful.
Select image type 'png or jpg'
If it is png then you should select 'PNG-24' only. Because png-8 will be less quality.

Then click on save, and select the correct location to save. Then upload it to website for faster access and better user interface.

You can use png 8 for many graphics, you only really need 24 if it has important transparency or many colours. 24 will be a lot bigger file, so only use it when required. Basically line art such as icons and graphics should be png and images jpg. I usually aim for 45 - 60% compression depending on the image for jpgs. Also save in sRGB for a more vibrant jpg file.

And don't forget to save the file with a relevant keyword, ie. instead of DSC867754.jpg use something like apple-ipod.jpg as this not only makes it better for seo, but also better for organising on your computer ;)
